Global Television fleet further expands with HD6

07-Feb-2012

The Global Television team have started 2012 as we mean to go on, launching our newest High Definition (HD) van: HD6.

HD6 makes its debut next week on the new Nine Network program, The Voice, from Sydney’s FOX Studios.

A single-side semi-trailer that expands to 4.6m, HD6 can seat up to 31 operators.

HD6 permits parking flexibility in tight spots while offering large seating capacity.

With HD6, Global Television continues to use the ‘best of breed’ approach, featuring:

  • Sony MVS7000X: a 3G & 3D capable vision mixer
  • Virtual Studio Manager (VSM). As deployed in Global’s HD1, HD2 and HD4 units, the VSM ensures quick turnaround between projects
  • Calrec Artemis 40 fader audio desk with Bluefin 5:1 surround sound
  • Six onboard EVS servers equating to 36 channels of record/replay in addition to 3 x HD VTR capabilities

Able to accommodate large and small projects alike, Global’s outside broadcast (OB) fleet is now fully HD capable for 2012 confirmed HD projects, following our merger with Cutting Edge’s OB division and continued investment in market-leading infrastructure.

Future HD expansion is planned with the shell of HD10 already built and awaiting technical fit-out by Global TV’s Engineering Services Division. In addition we maintain a fleet of SD vans and control rooms specific to client needs.

The current Global Television fleet includes:

  • 12 High Definition control surfaces: HD1, HD2, HD3, HD4, HD5, HD6, HD7, HD8 and HD9; HD Portable Outside Broadcast Unit; HD Transportable Control Rooms HDT1 and HDT2
  • 6 Standard Definition control surfaces: DP4, DP5, DP6, DP7and DP8; Global Studios Melbourne SD Control Room

Of course, Global Television’s promise is more than just facilities and broadcast resources: we have the industry’s best people and technical know-how, which mean our clients can focus on their core business activity and leave technical delivery to us.

Meanwhile, Global’s in-house engineers can design systems and installations for both internal and external provision, enabling client-specific engineering and workflow designs.

Whether you need a dry hire, end-to-end project delivery or something in between, Global’s expanded team and fleet mean it’s easier than ever to do business with us.
